Emily Chase recently directed Eight Nights at Antaeus (LA Times Critics Choice, Ovation Recommended). Her other directing credits include Dakin Matthews’s Divorce Court Hell  (Antaeus); productions at Sierra Madre Playhouse, The Road Theatre, Theater 40, and numerous developmental workshops at Antaeus, The Road Theatre, Playwrights Union, Moving Arts, Met Theater, and Classical Theater Lab. Her past classes at the Antaeus Academy include: It’s Alive! The Nuts and Bolts of Acting in New Plays; Modern Classics; and Ringing the Rafters: Voice for the Classical Actor. She has taught acting and directed productions at UCLA, the University of Southern California, U.C. Riverside, AMDA, and A Noise Within. She is the Director of the Antaeus Playwrights Lab. Barry Creyton has worked extensively in British theatre, television and radio and is known nationally in his native Australia as a major identity in all entertainment media. His plays are produced in more than twenty languages, and his young adult novels are published by Random House. He has appeared in plays, revues and musicals in London’s West End, in TV series for BBC, London Weekend and ITV, and has been heard in BBC radio productions and the BBC World Service. In Los Angeles, he’s played Hector Hulot in Cousin Bette and Apollo in The Curse of Oedipus, both for The Antaeus Company, for whom he adapted Noel Coward’s Peace in our Time, winning the Ovation and LA Weekly Theatre awards. He wrote the sketch material for the Off Broadway revue Secrets, which ran for two and a half years. In 2015 he  joined the Off Broadway cast of Tribes playing Christopher for LA Theatre Works. He has been honored with the Kessell Memorial Award for his outstanding contributions to Australian theatre as actor, playwright and director, an honorary award from the Variety Club of Australia, and he received the 2014 international Noel Coward Writing Award. He adapts and directs productions for Blackstone Audio – The Tempest, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet – and for LA Theatre Works – Cyrano de Bergerac.

At ANTAEUS:  Cousin Bette, Tonight at 8:30, many ClassicsFests, The Liar, and The Wood Demon, plus countless readings.  She is well-known to both California and regional audiences, having performed at South Coast Rep, The Mark Taper Forum, The Old Globe, Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theater, , A.C.T, Berkeley Rep, A Contemporary Theater, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and Shakespeare Festival LA, among others. Her TV credits include Modern Family, NYPD Blue, Numbers, and recurring roles on Desperate Housewives and Almost Perfect.  She also teaches and privately coaches actors; she was the co-teacher of the Antaeus Academy for two years, and also teaches Shakespeare at The Art of Acting and A Noise Within. Additionally, she is an accent coach for television and theater, including Antaeus, A Noise Within, South Coast Repertory, The Pasadena Playhouse, LA Theatre Works, Boston Court, Rogue Machine and Sacred Fools.  She was the recipient of the 2011 Lunt Fontanne Fellowship, a national award to regional theatre actors.  MFA, The American Conservatory Theatre.

Henri is a Los Angeles based actor, originally from Seattle, who holds both US and French citizenship.  His stage credits include work at the Mark Taper Forum, South Coast Repertory Theater, the Old Globe in San Diego, the Seattle Repertory Theater, and the Intiman Theater in Seattle. On television he starred in the Showtime series Sleeper Cell.  Other TV credits include recent appearances on Hawaii 5-O, Battle Creek, and Salem.

A native of Philadelphia, Jill holds a BA in English & Communication from the University of Pennsylvania. Selected credits include: Cousin Bette andCabaret Noel (ANTAEUS), A Christmas Carol (South Coast Repertory), As You Like It: The Musical (Classical Theatre Lab), Henry IV, Part I and The Night of the Iguana (A Noise Within). Jill occasionally appears on TV, movie and computer screens (you may remember her giving birth to triplets on The Mindy Project). She enjoys good TV, a good cheesesteak, and most importantly, good grammar and spelling. Jill also narrates audiobooks, but her favorite gig is reading bedtime stories to her daughter.

She bleeds maize and blue with a BFA in theatre performance from the University of Michigan.  Favorite ANTAEUS roles include: Essie in You Can’t Take It With You, Hortense in Cousin Bette, Young Woman in La Ronde and countless other ClassicsFests, Workshops and Readings. A year hardly goes by where Robert does not appear in a play locally or somewhere around the country. Most recently he played in Richmond, VA in Ted Lange’s Lady Patriot, which is the fourth play he has done with Ted. His theatrical home is with the Antaeus Theatre Company where he has most recently played Geronte in David Ives wonderful adaptation of Corneille’s 1648 play, The Liar. His other shows with Antaeus include Noel Coward’s Tonight at 8:30, Cousin Bette and King Lear. Robert has been acting for 51 years and has a robust list of film and TV credits which can be found on imbd.com. Has been married for 48 years to Gwynne who is a psycho-therapist. And they are the proud parents of Katie, also a psycho-therapist and Chris, a fine actor in his own right.

John has taught in the juvenile prison system of Los Angeles county for the past 12 years and is head of education outreach of Antaeus where he is one of the creators and the lead teacher of The Odyssey Artist’s Workshop, a Shakespeare and dramatic writing program for the incarcerated and underserved young people of Los Angeles.

For Antaeus, The Malcontent, Cousin Bette, Spite for Spite, Seven Keys to Baldpate, Orpheus Descending, Robin Polished By Love, Poor Bitos, Arcadia, The Learned Ladies, and co-principal violinist of the late, lamented Antaeus Orchestra. He played the aptly-named “Paul” in the final three seasons of Cheers, and before that was a regular on It’s Garry Shandling’s Show. Paul has guest-starred on many TV series, including Big Bang Theory, The Newsroom,The Mentalist, Frasier, Ally McBeal, X-Files, Star Trek Voyager, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Entourage, recurred most notably on Malcolm in the Middle, The Larry Sanders Show and George & Leo, and appeared in the movies Office Space, The Goodbye Girl, Where the Buffalo Roam and Problem Child 2, as well as many smaller films. Paul is also a longtime member of the gracefully-aging improvisational company Off The Wall.
